Stonehenge Rocks
At first I wasn't very excited about going to see Stonehenge. It's just a bunch of rocks that who-knows-who-or-how-or-why put there. I would have much rather gone a little ways further on the Salisbury plain to Salisbury Cathedral. Double transepts and cloisters are more to my taste than knocked over menhirs and blue stones. But as my sister is a geologist, I did my best to enjoy the walk on the path around the ancient stone circle.
The Salisbury plain itself is breathtaking. Hills, a few hedgerows, patches of trees, and sheep. Lots of sheep. I spent an hour enjoying the view, the sheep, the wind, the company of my fellow classmates and teachers, and even the rocks.
Stonehenge was only a stop on a journey to Bath, an experience which will follow later in greater detail and with academic analysis to turn in as homework. Yes, blogging is part of our homework as an alternative to a short written paper or photo essay. Hereafter, and title with (*) before it means it is an assignment, and thus will have more depth and academic babble.
