The Night They Invented Champagne

The song is going to be stuck in my head for a week. On a whim, a group of us decided to go to the Regents Park Open Air Theatre and see Gigi. It was fantastic! Songs were taken out from the movie version and different ones put in their place (some of my favourite unfortunately-- such as the gossip at Maxime's and the Parisians, but the same points were conveyed in different ways). The actors were superb, and the costumes and choreography so splendid that I almost didn't notice the extreme cold and damp from the morning's rain. No rain fell during the play, just a lot of wind blowing leaves about. Another wonderful part was watching the reactions of my group, most of which were unfamiliar with the musical.

It was a good ending to a day filled with long classes, and an incredibly long walk around where the original walls of Londinium would be if all were still standing-- a walk that we rushed to complete in just under two hours. I will post about that experience in greater detail later.
