A Foggy Day

Well, it wasn't foggy, but there has been a bit of rain. I think the last time I saw the sun was when I was still above the clouds in the plane.

So I arrived in London after a long flight spent watching parts of a few movies and my traveling buddy sleep. We then took a hired van, the Dot-to-Dot company, out of the airport and to the BYU London Centre. I'd recommend this method. It isn't too expensive, more than the Tube and train, and worth the little extra just for the big windows and seeing everything you pass, as opposed to being stuck underground-- although, some of the students traveling by Underground were able to witness a rather large brawl and police interference. Taking the motorway from Heathrow to Notting Hill, I got to see a good portion of Chiswick. I think mine was the better view.

To spend the afternoon not sleeping, I went on a walk with two roommates just around Queensway and around up to Portabello Road. The stalls in Portabello have a nice variety of costume jewelry, silver pots and pitchers, and leather rugby equipment. Just like most streets of antique stores and outside bazaars, but with the adrenaline rush of knowing that at any moment your wallet could be stolen.

After dinner, kitchen duty, and a meeting that was a preview for the meeting we are having Monday, I finally got to crash in bed.
